Youth Corps Project
Denver Options' partners with the City of Denver to help young people with learning, cognitive or physical disabilities make the transition from school to work. This is a challenging process for every young person. When you add disabilities to the mix, barriers can increase. The Youth Corps helps turn potential stumbling blocks into stepping stones on the path to employment.
Kids who take advantage of Youth Corps support come from wide-reaching ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds, including “at-risk” youth. The Project provides service opportunities, work experiences, and internships to assist youth in developing the skills and habits that will lead to successful, paid employment. Many young people with disabilities graduate from high school have little hope of receiving vital employment services leading to paid employment. The Youth Corps Project makes a difference in helping young people with disabilities prepare for a promising future.
